Batteries Plus Bulbs is adding a brand new position to our Supply Chain Team! We are looking to hire an Inventory Allocator. Our Inventory Allocator is responsible for creating and analyzing item and product/category store level demand forecasts and inventory plans while partnering with stores sales and operations to ensure product supply availability and improve business performance. We are looking for a strong team player with experience in collaborative planning, forecasting, and replenishment.  

 

Store Level Inventory Planning & Project Management

  • Create and analyze forecasts and inventory levels by item for units and dollars. This forecast is developed manually or with a software program with input from the Stores team.
  • Identify trends that will affect future orders, inventory levels and in-stock percentages.
  • Facilitate regular meetings with the Stores team to review current and projected business performance.
  • Understand how sales trends, promotional activity and shipment patterns will affect in-stock percentages and profitability, making appropriate adjustments to allocation plans.
  • Achieve metrics and provide leadership to the other planning analysts to ensure best practices are being used on a daily/weekly/monthly basis.
  • Develop and maintain project plans to make sure all participants deliver as expected and initiatives are completed on-time and on-budget.
  • Enter and manage store level orders to vendors and optimize sales while minimizing store to store transfers.

Vendor Performance & Reporting

  • Serves as the subject matter expert on stores inventory planning and provides system and process assistance to other key members in organization
  • Develop and manage a Stores forecast and allocation process.
  • Present order flow analysis to optimize sales & inventory and ensure product availability.
  • Partner with Stores to improve performance and prepare metrics/KPIs.
  • Monitor performance and partner with Stores to resolve issues on a proactive basis. 

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum BS/BA required, with emphasis in Supply Chain, Finance, Math, Business Administration or related field
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in demand and supply chain management or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in collaborative planning, forecasting, and replenishment. Experience in use of supply chain software packages is also a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office and/or other similar databases or software with an ability to adapt learning to incorporate new technology with advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Proven problem solving skills. Duties require the use of judgment in the analysis of facts, numbers and circumstances surrounding problems to determine what actions should be taken within the limits of standard or accepted practice.
  • Strong organizational skills with sense of urgency. Ability to independently handle multiple projects/tasks under the direction where duties and outcomes are established. Ability to plan and arrange significant portion of own work, referring only unusual situations to supervisor.
  • Strong presentation and customer service focus. Responsibility to work autonomously, collaboratively, and in a team environment where difficult subjects may be discussed requiring tact to avoid friction and obtain cooperation. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Ability to work with confidential data such as process, service and product costs which, if disclosed, might have significant internal effect or minor external effect.
  • A quick study and self starter that shows initiative
