Batteries Plus Bulbs is looking to hire an energetic and driven Sales Executive on our National Accounts Team! This person will be based out of our Corporate Office in Hartland, WI. Our National Accounts Sales Executives act as the primary contact for our National Accounts development and management. They partner with the sales team to plan annual sales targets and market penetration within targeted industry segments to grow sales and profits. This position requires significant travel across the United States working with stores and clients, both new and existing.


  • Prospect and canvas prospective customers, and obtain self-generated appointments with key decision makers.  Make effective sales presentations to key decision makers of major corporations.
  • Manage leads from inception to close, develop and negotiate profitable deals.
  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities Make recommendations to fill market demand and achieve sales goals. Work with internal teams to review the viability of the opportunities.
  • Develop, maintain and improve franchise relationships. Meet and communicate with franchisees to provide market and program information, and improve local execution of assigned customer programs.
  • Work with franchisee sales personnel making customer calls to initiate new sales within the territory.  Educate franchisees on product applications and sales opportunities.
  • Regularly meet with Inside and Commercial sales management to create, monitor and plan sales strategies and tactics.
  • Facilitate better communication between internal departments and the field.


Planning, Administration and Support

  • Manage assigned customers and effectively handle customer care issues.
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of all products, pricing and processes in order to speak knowledgeably with customers and franchisees.
  • Work with internal Marketing and Sales teams to provide support for the development and execution of sales campaigns and programs. Track, monitor and report on effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, contacts, opportunities and account information in databases.
  • Assist in forecasting sales and setting National Accounts sales goals, metrics and measures.
  • Communicate sales metrics actual v budget and plans through regular status reports.
  • Attend regular meetings to provide detailed information to management to assist in the development of marketing and sales plans.
  • Operate within assigned budget guidelines.



  • Bachelor degree in Business, Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 3-6 years B2B sales experience with a demonstrated success record. Proven track record of achieving sales quotas and ever increasing goals.
  • Previous operational experience and/or direct P&L/SBU experience strongly desired.
  • Experience and comfort level with making executive presentations. Ability to ascertain and connect with corporate decision makers.
  • Excellent listening skills with ability to identify and isolate customer concerns and objections. Strong verbal and written communication skills to overcome objections and influence decisions.
  • Strong customer service and relationship building skills.  Ability to persuade and stand ground while putting the whole room at ease.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and issues and mastery of the selling process. Strong prospecting, negotiation and closing skills.
  • Experience with uncovering, analyzing and developing financial opportunities using mathematical models to make recommendations and/or decisions. Must be able to calculate, evaluate and explain growth and loss percentages at the account and National level.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills. Duties require considerable judgment to work independently to achieve results, or to devise new or modify and adapt existing methods, processes, procedures or standards to meet new or unusual requirements. 
  • Working understanding of Microsoft Office and capable of adapting learning to incorporate new technology. Strong knowledge and proficiency in Excel.
  • Self-motivated, able to organize and prioritize projects to meet business requirements with little corporate direction.
  • Must have valid driver's license, clean driving record and ability to rent a car
  • Travel up to 60% overnight travel required
