The Application Development Manager leads a team of software developers and provides the day-to-day supervision and direction of a team of software developers within our in-house information technology team. Located on-site at the Batteries Plus Bulbs corporate office and national headquarters in Hartland, WI, the software Application Development Manager works closely with senior leadership, product owners, and other stakeholders. 

In this role as the Application Development Manager, you will evaluate software development needs, lead your team of developers, provide ongoing maintenance for enterprise applications, manage vendor relationships, and lead structured methods to analysis, design, development, test, and implement. Your 7+ years of experience in application development and support, prior management experience, experience with SQL based systems and Server and Client side programming languages and frameworks including C#, Javascript, and Angular will be key to your success in this role.   We are a growing national retailer with 700+ stores nationwide. Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of software developers who contribute to the design, development, and continuous improvement of one or more enterprise-wide software applications
  • Partner with senior management, product teams and enterprise architects to drive and support strategic enterprise visions
  • Evaluate development needs, allocate resources, and ensure adherence to technical standards
  • Provide Tier 2/Tier 3 support for production-level enterprise applications, including regulatory and compliance standards
  • Collaborate with Business Analysts and other members of the in-house information technology team

Requirements:

  • 7+ years of software application development and support 
  • Prior management experience 
  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field, Master's Degree desired
  • Working knowledge of SQL based systems
  • Experience with Server and Client-side programming languages and frameworks - C#, Javascript, Angular
  • Experience with development tools - Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, SSMS, Git
  • DevOps and PaaS solutions experience
  • Cloud serverless development experience a plus - Azure, AWS, or GCP
